Jonny doesn't need residents to agree with him. He needs to understand what they're experiencing.
Madison looks different depending on where you live, what you do, how old you are and what systems you interact with. Some problems show up in the data. Others don't become visible until someone tells us what they're experiencing.
What are you seeing that we should understand?
HOW WE’RE LISTENING
THE BEST WAY TO UNDERSTAND A PROBLEM IS TO GET CLOSER TO IT.
That means talking with residents who experience the problem, people who work inside the system, community organizations, City employees, neighborhood leaders and people who may see things very differently from one another.
We’re asking questions, listening for where experiences overlap—and where they don’t—and using those conversations to better understand what the data alone can’t tell us.
Understanding is the bridge. Agreement is optional.

WHAT ARE WE MISSING?
What’s working in your neighborhood? What isn’t? Where are people getting stuck? What problem do you think Madison needs to understand better?
You don’t have to have the solution. Sometimes the most important thing you can contribute is helping us ask a better question.
Tell us what you’re seeing.
